Anyone been to vegas?

The luxor is indeed very very cool. Nice little town inside the pyramid as well. I have heard from fellow travelers that they did not like the rooms though. I never stayed there so take that for what its worth.

From my one stay in LV Caesar's Palace was nice. I stayed in the Augustus towers. Friendly service and they kept the place very cool. It was for a conference so I really didn't get much of a choice though 😛

The food on the strip is expensive though. Off the strip - not so much if you don't mind walking 30 minutes to get there

You can go to Vegas, buy a boat or have a pool installed ... it's all the same. All three are money pits ... the only difference is how you flush your money away.

wynn/encore, maybe aria. bellagio, venetian/palazzo, mandalay. id roughly say its the top tier. havent been in a couple years, but used to visit frequently. luxor is pretty ghetto IMO

Luxor has vastly improved in the past few years. I was very surprised at how much nicer it is now... it still isn't on the same tier as Bellagio/Wynn/Palazzo, but it's a nice upper-mid tier hotel/casino now.

If you are going to see all of the strip I would stay some where in the middle. The Luxor is at the end of the strip and that will be a lot of walking. Skip all cabs they are a rip off. Do not order any tickets online unless you can get front row tickets. You want to find the booths call tix4tonight. They are all along the strip selling half price tickets for shows and food.

Depends on what you are in Vegas to do... Ive been several times... Dont waste your money on paying 300 bucks a night unless you are in a suite and i mean a 1500sqft suite.....

I prefer staying at Mirage or Harrahs because its basically in the middle and I can get to every single hotel within a decent amount of time... If not I can take the monorail to it and I will be good to go...

I went for work and the 4-600 rooms at the wynn was like 135 a night during work week, so if you dont stay weekends, its like dirt cheap for a nice room and they hit you up with resort fees, 20 bucks a day or something

All over town, Sun - Thurs rates are 1/4 of the Fri/Sat rates

Go there twice a year... (my in-laws retired out there!)

We have stayed at most of the bigger hotels on the strip at least once but, anymore, we always wind up back at the Venetian/Palazzo.

We stayed at the Luxor about 5 years ago, I think Motel6 has nicer rooms. Very disappointed. (I think that was before the latest upgrade, though.)

The hottest place to be and be seen is the Cosmopolitan hands down.

Google it, whatever, you will find this to be true.

I stay there or the Palazzo or at the Encore.

I've driven through both Las Vegas, NV and Las Vegas, NM several times and the one in New Mexico is quite a bit nicer than the one in Nevada. I've only spent one night in each and, again, the hotel in New Mexico was nicer than the Motel 6 in Nevada.

I went a couple years ago for two nights with two friends of mine. I flew there from San Diego (about an hour flight), we stayed at the Venetian in a nice suite and split the cost three ways. We had two queen beds and a sofa sleeper. Cost me less than $1500 for the entire trip and I brought $300 to gamble with (lost it all of course). We ate out both nights at very nice restaurants, had breakfast in the casino and still it didn't go over the $1500. Not sure how you could buy a boat or install a pool for that kind of money.
