I'm going to be actually staying in Indiana 4 miles from the convention center where I'm going to be most of the actual day time I'm there. I'm staying there until Saturday.

I was just wondering if anyone recommends any food places to eat or things to do specifically. I've heard about the Louisville slugger factory but I don't know if we'll be able to go because we'll be working during the day. I also heard of one of those boat casinos that we wanted to check out.

Any other suggestions?

Ali museum, strip joints (PTs), Caeser's Casino about 10 minutes away and pretty nice, vincinzo's is a very fine restaurant.

4th street live is the downtown party area.

I think Churchilll Downs starts running this weekend.

There's a few louisvillians around. For the casino, take 64 west (you'll wanna get directions, it's easy though) - don't try to go backroads or through IN.

Strip clubs are decent - booze and total nudity/tucking, etc. That, with a dinner at vincinzo's (make reservations, it's a top class italian joint). If you want to go to the casino, there is a decent steak restaurant there. If you go on friday, you're going to want to go early. It gets really crowded if you want to get decent table games. Slots are always open. The craps tables are awesome 20X and more odds.

If I was in town I'd show you around. Let me know if you want to go to the casino I could show you around or teach you a thing or two.

Louisville is routinely in the top ten in the USA for local restaurants. There's so many to choose from I don't know where to start. There's also a really strong local music scene if that's more your cup of tea.

Gotta check out Mark's Feed Store for casual sit-down eating.

Louisville Slugger tour is very neat. Also right across the street from it is a military history museum. I have heard it is good, but haven't been myself. It's call the Ferris Arms Museum or something like that.

Bardstown Rd (actually Baxter Ave at that point) between approx. Broadway and Winter Ave is good for more of a pub-type environment. Search for Molly Malone's as a reference point, everything is within a couple blocks of that. 4th street downtown is more fancy.

Unfortunately you missed Knob Creek by 2 weeks.

If you like tanks go check out the Patton Museum at Ft. Knox. By the way, DO NOT take pictures of Ft. Knox itself. There are no signs but it is a federal crime.

Ah, another great thing about our state. Home of the largest machinegun and demolition demonstration in the USA. Bring your own. Buddy went through 4K worth of ammo (He's a machine gun dealer...go figure).

Yup, I was going to mention this. That is a fun street to stroll around on a warm evening.

Actually, I really enjoy downtown around 4th street. People seem really chill, it's a very clean city to just lounge. Walk along the river bank under Joe's Crab shack.

If you have a friend there with you, It's kinda fun to go down to river front park when the lights are on and throw a frisbee :)
