Hey guys,
i am going to SFO for spring break...wanted to know what is there to do..the best places to go, shop, whatever. I definately am gonna go to Fry's, as i have never been to their store before. I am staying in south SFO, is that a good area...or a bad area ?
And whats so good about this in and out burger too lol
thanks guys
btw any other different computer type stores out there with good prices ?

UPDATE - Well i just got back from SF on saturday, and my god, what a beautiful place it is !
i had alot of fun there, very nice people, very organized city, but highways and bridges were a bit confusing, like getting on bridge 92 or w/e it was called, went toward san mateo and jackson st was confusing, other than that i loved it !

and i also went to ! - click

umm.. there's lots of stuff to do here, i've lived here all my life.. depends if you'll have a car and how far you want to travel.. as far as computer stores go, there's microcenter.. dunno if those are national.. and fry's as you mentioned..

there's lots of great restaurants, lots of fun places to go..

i highly recommend the exploratorium... it's like a physics museum.. lots of cool hands on experiments and stuff..

if you just want to do touristy stuff, then head to the wharf, and pier 39... lots of overpriced wares, but it's kinda fun... take a cable car ride.. go to coit tower.. you should definately go see the bridge.. that thing is awesome.. you can walk across it or just drive to the marin side where there's like a scenic place where you can take pictures and what not..

if you're into baseball you can take a tour of pacbell park.. actually i'm not sure if they do that during the season, but you can always get a ticket to one of the opening week games.. i'd recommend the first two games (tuesday or wednesday, zito and cain pitching, respectively), although i think opening day is sold out

in the east bay, there's UC berkeley.. nice campus.. interesting city.. some good food there too

in the south bay, there's stanford.. awesome campus.. all of the big tech companies are down here.. great mexican and vietnamese food in san jose

what else is there to do.. i dunno.. feel free to PM me with any questions as they arise

Yeah im gonna go see most of the stuff..prob no time for tours..but i am def going to the bridge and the pier, Fishermans warf. And i definately want to go downtown SFO. SFO airport is really nice itself !

I've only been there once and I did a lot of walking. I mostly saw all the tourist stuff like Coit (sp?) Tower, Lombard Street, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Bridge, and some driving along the coast from the Marin Headlands north to Stinson Beach.

Edit: The remains of the "hippie" in me made me go see Haight Ashbury but it didn't appear to be a place I wanted to walk in.

Pier 39
ChinaTown
Downtown mall
Golden Gate
Alcatraz
Hwy 1
Imax theatre
Lombard street
AT&T or Candlestick park (go see a game)

hey they have any computer stores in chinatown lol ???
all parts coming straight from china...should be cheaper and must bea variety !

they don't have games at candlestick anymore.. well football only, and it's not the season for it...

oh yeah, i forgot to mention chinatown! it's fun there.. i spent a lot of my childhood there, but no, there are no computer stores.. but you may be able to find a store with some pirated software

oh, and go down lombard street.. that's always fun

What part of South SF are you staying in? Some parts can be bad areas.

i'm sure if he's in a hotel, or even a motel, he'll be fine, as long as he's not out in the streets in the middle of the night

oh, and yes, you should definately go to in-n-out... get a double double with grilled onions.. tasty! there's one in daly city... there's also one by the microcenter and frys in sunnyvale...

Now for a useful reply:

All kinds of stuff in Golden Gate park.

If you can drive out of the city... I'd recommend going down to Santa Cruz (boardwalk is cool), Monterey, Big Sur.

Definitely drive pacific coast highway for this trip.
