Had a Coworker with a blended family of 7 kids - He was a NY-Long Island native and never would have expected him to enjoy a Disney Cruise. Said his kids had a fantastic time, lots of activities for the young-ins, the young teens also enjoyed it.

He noted its much more expensive than a regular cruise but it was very well done with shows, themes and food that kept his entire family busy.

I went on "The Big Red Boat" around 30 years ago. They had ice cream. It was fun for the most part. My mom was seasick the whole time and hated it. Grandma and one of my uncles came with. My brother and sister both had chicken pox and it was terrible for them.

And on-topic if you're going with the kids and/or are a Disney-freak then the DCL ships are a decent choice especially if combined with a trip to the parks.

HOWEVER if neither of the above apply you should be looking at Royal Caribbean instead and put the TON of money you'll save towards a nicer cabin and shore-excursions. (stay away from Carnival)

Never been on a Cruise. The only one that interests me ATM would be an Alaska cruise, but I believe you don't have to get on one for the experience.

If you do your homework and choose the right ship/cruise-line and destinations a cruise can be a fantastic low-effort vacation.

Choose poorly however and it can be dirty, noisy/rowdy -or- snooty, stuffy and uncomfortable (with bonus listeria!) depending on your personal preference.

Think of it as going to bed and during the night your luxury-resort re-locates with you to a new location.

Had a Co-worker go on a Disney cruse, and he (and she) loved it. After seeing the pics, you need to be under 13, or really into Disney.

Had a Coworker with a blended family of 7 kids - He was a NY-Long Island native and never would have expected him to enjoy a Disney Cruise. Said his kids had a fantastic time, lots of activities for the young-ins, the young teens also enjoyed it.

He noted its much more expensive than a regular cruise but it was very well done with shows, themes and food that kept his entire family busy.

We snagged a last minute guaranteed veranda room for $3300 for 4 of us. It wasn't expensive at all.

Mrs Ned & I did the Alaska cruise last year. They were still on COVID protocal, meaning that the ship was only at 60% of capacity and there were no kids age 12 and under. It was wonderful... I'd say I'll never experience another cruise like it.

We did a princess cruise to Alaska in 2018, and did not notice an overabundance of children. It was a great time. My wife and BIL started dreaming out loud and next thing you know, it was happening. We had 11 family on that trip. Our go to socializing is over cards, and we would inhabit a corner of the main dining room and people would just stay the heck away from our rowdiness.

That's awesome. I'm hoping we enjoy this trip, but I know I'd like one of the busier cruises too with more stops. I may definitely try to do an Alaskan Cruise next year, but still not sure what my schedule is going to look like due to a big project I'm on that's spinning up.

We did this cruise in 2018. You'd pay ~$1100 to travel as a single passenger for an inside cabin.

We were on the Princess Majestic, and left from Seattle. We had a 9th or 10th deck balcony room.
