Anyone been banned from Napster yet???

my friend just got hit with a message today that she's been banned from napster by Dr. Dre... bizarre, and one of my other friends told me that if they can trace your name and stuff, they hit you with a subpoena? any experiences out there? information?

It's subpoena, and no bannings for me. Then again, I don't download that crap by Dre or Metallica. I d/l it, and if I like it, delete it and buy it. :Q

Either way, I wouldn't worry about being served.

Don't sweat it, the governemnt has better things to do (I hope! :Q) than prosecute kids for downloading mp3's.

i'm not as much worried as curious... a lil worried for my friend cause she's the one who got banned,... mainly wanna know if this is happening more and more and if they actually have tried to take legal action...

once u get banned...get a cookie cruncher and delete the cookie that napster left...

nope they currently only ban through cookies....i hope they dont go the IP route.

It's not a cookie it's a registry entry which they use. All you have to do is use the unban exe. which can be downloaded from: YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER - LINK DELETED

If the users are banned, it's for a reason. Please do not demonstrate how to 'get around this' at AnandTech.

*trust me* there's nowhere near enough resources in any country to spend time busting kids who download the odd .mp3, it's just no gonna happen.
