Anyone a member of Snap Fitness?

A Snap Fitness center just opened in my area and I was wondering if anyone had any experience with them.

The only things that turn me off is that it is fairly small and they only have an attendant there from 6am-8pm. After that it seems like anyone could bring their friends along with them. You have to have an access card to get in, but I don't see how they could prevent others from joining you.

If it becomes a big deal, you could complain to management and all premises are under surveillance 24/7. They could compare the video to whomever swiped their card at that time.

There's one a mile away from my family's house - I've tried to convince my parents to go for the longest time. My sister's at home for a while (looking for a job), so hopefully she can get them to get a family membership.

I'm definitly leaning towards signing up. I like how you don't have to get into a contract and the prices are fairly good. I can buy 7 months for about $220 which is what I think I'll do.

Even if someone else does bring a friend with them, so what? I'd doubt it would affect your workout...at those hours there probably aren't going to be a lot of people there...

Then people workout for free?

Don't get me wrong, I could care less, but it is irritating to see that.

We don't have any Snaps in Dallas - mostly dominated by the big chains. I'm surprised they don't have a front desk person at all times.

It'd be highly inefficient - the rates would go up probably. It's a "gym" for adults, mostly, so in the late evening hours through morning, I never see anyone in there if I'm driving by. There's also no barbells so you can't do any power lifts that could potentially go wrong and kill yourself. (Not that someone couldn't put there head under a stack of plates on a lat-pulldown)

They have 2 or 3 designs - the one near my family's house is TINY.

Yeah the one near me is pretty small, but it has everything you need to do a full body workout. One thing I really don't like is they don't have any showers. I think I'm still going to sign up though. Prices really aren't that bad and no contract.
