Anyoen here have Verizon's FIOS FTTP ISP?

I know the speeds must be amazing. I wonder how much longer until this FTTP and fiber in general will be more wide spread?

I'm wondering if it will backfire into their faces due to the fact that bandwidth is quite expensive. I'm sure they thought about this all along but offering so much bandwidth for so little... what does that mean???????????

They're laying the cable in our neighborhood right now. Not sure how much longer until they turn it on. I'll be the first one to sign up.

Bandwidth is expenisve because they can sell it to you at that price. Why does a 4Mb connection today cost as much as a 512k connection 4 years ago? Because of competition. There is so much dark fiber in this country that it is a joke. Our local power company has the city covered in fiber but they can't sell access because of telecom anti competition regulation. So they use it for a companywide VOIP system.
