Anybody work at IBM/Lenovo? laptop decision?

I'm in chemotherapy and I have generous people that will fund me for a laptop.

Any ATers can get access to Lenovo Employee Pricing?

I don't think they want to wait for Dell's end of Quarter Coupons

With that said, I still love my 3 year old T41. Solid as a rock and IBM support ROCKS!

I dont work there, nor do I have access to the deals, but I can say I really do support IBM/Lenovo laptops. It's all I would own currently... I love my Lenovo 3000.. I upgraded it a fair bit. Kickass machine! :thumbsup:

random question, do hospitals have free WiFi? I mean at a lot of hospitals they don't even like you to use cell phones (because it interferes with pacemakers?)

Well my Hospital is joint with Tufts-University New England Medical Center

Different parts you can find many secured connections. But in the inpatient I managed to find a secured linksys

Yes they did not want to offer Total Hospital Wifi because it would interfere and they do not want to do renovation for wired networking

I'll probably make a big dish in my room and point it outside or something

Personally I used to have a X31, used to work at IBM but now I'm a Mac guy.

Does anybody know if you change/upgrade parts... do you need orginal parts for warranty?

original parts? Well i assume if you replace the HD, the new HD isnt going to be covered.... But as for replacing things yourself, it dosent mess with the warranty of the other parts..

Look at CDW.

My company just got me a T60 and we ordered it from Lenovo DEcember 21st. They have been delaying and delaying for no reason.

We ordered from CDW last Friday (it wqas cheaper) and I have had it for two days now.

But CDW cannot customize.... as I need to work around the $1000~ quota
