Before anyone says anything, if you hate NASCAR than click out of this thread... NOW.

Ok, now that that's settled. I turned on ESPN a few minutes ago and caught the highlights of the race. The finish was amazing. Edwards has the lead in the final turn (I think final turn?) and some new guy gets under him, spins him. Edwards then gets hit as he's spinning, goes airborne... ENTIRELY airborne and smashes into the fence. Meanwhile this new guy cruises to victory.

A couple thoughts.

A. New guy spinning someone out on last lap to win the race. No outrage about this? If it was Tony Stewart he'd have punched the guy.
B. Edwards wasn't upset about that, although he did say something about NASCAR doing 'this' until someone gets killed. I assume he was talking about restrictor plate racing, although I am a bit confused how that played a role in his crash.
C. Holy airborne batman. Good thing those fences are there!

Brad didn't spin Edwards out. Edwards cut down on him and thanks to Nascar's stupid no passing below the yellow line rule Brad only had two choices lose or hold his line. He held his line. Same basic thing happened last year. Stewart was in the lead and Smith was in second. Same blocking crap and Smith pulled low and got a bit of fender under Stewart and Stewart came down on him. Instead of wrecking Stewart though Smith went below the line and passed Stewart to cross the line first. For not wrecking Stewart Smith was rewarded with a 20 something place finish. Nascar says you can't pass below the yellow line unless you are forced and Nascar decides if you were forced or not. Smith response to what happened was "Next time I guess I'll just wreck him" and what happened today is what we get.

More like not knowing how to merge it looked like expecting the guy to get out of his way. 😉

The ONLY entertaining thing from NASCAR is the crashes. The other 10000 laps in a circle are boring as hell.
