I watched it the other day, and what is the purpose of that show, is it satanic or something? because there was some guy named Satan, and people were cheering his name when he was fighting against some girl.
 
I watch the pathetic Toonami dub of it, since that's all that is redily avaliable...though my friend is soon to have a decent subbed version...heh, you won't understand much of what is going on if you havne't watched alot of the series

isn't there another little guy named gotan or something like that? someone was trying to explain it to me and they said that he was the most powerful in the universe, one of the go(somethings)
 
Therse Goku, Gohan, and Goten, the latter two which are both Goku's sons...i think i spelled it wrong though DOH! Pan is the daughter of Gohan and Videl(Mr. Satans daughter)..Other characters to know are Trunks(son of vegita and bulma), vegita....think of him as gokus old rival...
 
rice? so what's the relationship between goku, gohan, and goten? most of the family names are related in some way.

like dr brief, bra, bulma, trunks; satan, videl, pan; piccolo, dende.
 
best anime cartoon series i've ever seen. its a waste if you begin to watch it where cartoon network is at now.. try to get earlier episodes.. once you start to watch it from a good point, you'll never want to stop.

and no mr. satan has nothing to do with satan.. just a name...

edit: in reply to buffguy: gohan and goten are both goku's sons. gotenks = gohan and trunks as one.. trunks = vegita's son.
 
Son Goku, IIRC, is a Chinese mythological monkey creature(or something similar). Of course it is now associated with some cheesy manga-turned-anime-TV character. Gohan can either mean rice, or simply a meal. As far as the names sounding the same, or being named after vegetables or other items, that's the creator's style, and it was also prevalent in his previous series.
 
In the American versions Mr. Satan is called "Hercule". Not sure of the reason for the change.. maybe they just wanted an "american bad-a$$" image for Mr. Satan, and Mr. Satan sounded that way to Japanese people. Of course, it sounds silly to us, so they use Hercule (a theory).

no, gohan and goten are brothers, both sons of gohan. goten and trunks merged to form gotrunks but that was only for one episode.

actually, goten and trunks fusion creates gotenks. 🙂

and yes, dragonballz is awesome. i remember when i first saw it on the WB, and thought it was dumb. then my little bros started watching it on cartoonnetwork, and i started watching it, and finally got hooked on it.
 
DBZ English dub is ghay.... subbed is a LOT better.

I recommend that you download the subbed eps. The dub just kills the jokes and the sound is pretty nasty too (and don't even get me started on the script).

NO NO TOTALLY WRONG, GOKU DOESNT MEAN SKY, AND GOHAN IS RICE, IT MEANS RICE, KTNX!
 
You guys should watch the last GT movie. It's weird, it takes place in the future where I think Pan has a kid, or something I'm not even sure what the hell it's about. But the kid looks like Goku and he's a PUSSY, he doesn't know how to fight and hes very weak. Try looking for episode summaries. Those help a lot.
