I see on the VNC site they have a version for handheld computers (or something like that) so it makes me think it would be so cool to be able to connect to and control my server over the web via VNC. Anybody have experience or comments?

Yeah, all new tech stuff woo hoo.
I would like an older palm type computer (read cheaper) and be able to control an NT4 server with it.

Anyone know if there is an ssh v2 client for palm yet? I know there is a v1 client, but Im not switching back to that just to feel a little more 31337 :p

It doesnt look like anyone has tried it. Do palms get good enough screens to be able to use vnc like that? Plus, vnc is a pain in the butt.

What can I say, it's my remote proggy of choice. It's compact, works in a java web browser, runs as a service on NT with no impact on any operations, it's painless, if I want I can carry the client on a floppy, it has served me well (bug free) for years and that earns my loyalty.
I wouldn't need it to do much, you can specify 8 bit color or even monotone when connecting and it uses little bandwidth that way. It would just be for making quick changes while out of town, that kind of thing.

Im glad to hear someone likes it :p

Its always been slow, buggy, and of course the machine on the other side was windows so that didnt help. ssh always seemed the way to go for me. :)

n0cmonkey, thanks for all the help. I guess even if you are good for nothing else you are keeping the thread up there for me.
