Anybody use DVD XCopy?

How well does it work and did you use the xpress or the normal version?

I've used both versions. Xpress is cool, it puts it all on one disc. Great quality too.

I tried the xpress once.. it said the burn was ok, but the disc wouldn't play in my DVD player, DVD Drive, or even the DVD Writer.
Maybe I need to try a different media format next time.

I used DVD Express and I can plaly it in my computer, but not in my dvd player.
What a waste of a dvd.

Double Density ( double sided ) would make it a lot nicer... Burning onto 2 discs kinda sucks.

I like DVD Shrink better. Grab the Beta 3.

i use instantcopy and have had no problems and good quality

edit: i also have dvd xcopy, but only use it for small dvds

It adds one extra step, but the quality is phenomenal compared to the rest.

(The extra step is using Nero or equivalent to burn the ripped files to DVD)

DVD XCopy is the best program for doing a straight copy of a DVD. Do NOT use the XPress version though because it doesn't copy any menus or special features or anything so the "Back Up" you'd be making of the DVD you "Already Own" won't be the same.

Menus and specials should be skipped so the space left from these areas gets carried over to the movie. No specials on DVD-r make the movie quality better.

IMHO thats one of the best features. I pop in my disc and it starts just like that. I would gladly give up all that extra crap like menus and directors commentary, if they made DVD's themselves cheaper. All that extra junk drives me nuts.

All you end up with is a DVD that's only half full. If the DV has the room, why not put them on there? You must have the wrong DVDs if you've never seen any Making Of type things that were good. Most of the oens I watch are awesome.

dvdxcopy express. the latest version have an tick option 'entire disc'. that will copy the menu. biggest problem with xpress is that it only copies the DD tracks.

I use Pinnacle Instant Copy. Copies and shrinks all the data. (menu's, add-ons, and all if you want it to)
