anybody use CIA2 on gigabyte motherboards to overclock their CPU?

I would rather manually overclock... Sorry, Gigabyte, but 19%? On your proc, thats a measly 2.66GHz overclock. You can do better than that at lower voltage, most likely.

Just manually overclock. With an E6600 you can get a 40-50% overclock with ease. Just spend an hour or two playing around in the BIOS, the DS3 BIOS is tiny, and get an idea for how your system responds. Even on a stock cooler you should be able to hit 3.2-3.4GHz and anything better 3.6GHz should be a piece of cake.

ok, i tried manual overclocking using the following settings. i set the system voltage control to auto, set the FSB to 320 and left the multiplier at 9 for 2.88GHZ and i set the memory multiplier at 2.5 for 800mhz memory. i use everest ultimate to check temps and voltages -

i do have a couple of questions though, i see that my CPU core voltage is 1.41 and i also checked with CPU-Z and it reports 1.40 is that a good voltage? also my memory is at 2.11 and i know the default is 1.8, will that hurt the memory? thank you in advance to all that reply 🙂

Hmm... What voltage does your memory say to use? Also, that is a very high voltage for your overclock, don't let it set to auto. Test it yourself, less power is less heat. That kind of overclock should be possible with near-stock voltage.

Also check cable management and airflow to push down temperatures.
