Original thread

I just picked this up after watching Batman Begins... actually I used to collect and managed a comic store for a number of years... so it's right up my alley.

Is anyone still playing? I don't expect you new dads to keep up with this stuff... ;)

Actually I'm a new dad but it's number three... so... eh.. no big deal... :D

Currently I have a 6th level Scrapper spines\regen

After watching The Incredibles a couple of months ago I was thinking of starting, but then I read their forums about how the Scrapper class was continually getting messed up in relation to the others.

From causal reading it seemed like you need to pour yourself into a fairly narrow mold to have a successful character. My idea of a fun scrapper would be an Iron Man type hero and their choices didn't seem to offer that.

Which is a rather long-winded way of saying "no" :)

From talking to a couple of players... and playing it myself, I think the real problem is the absolute necessity of teamplay to have a successful non-standard character.

You can have a character that's non-standard if you have a responsible group with the necessary augments.

Not very easy... IMO.

I'll play it for a couple of months and get bored with it, probably, unless I can convince my pals to play... we used to play Marvel Super Heroes RPG (the paper and dice kind) together... they might be up for it... :)

you can EASILY solo from 1-50 with any class. not sure what your definition of "non-standard" is but even a controller at low levels should be able to solo on heroic. sure some can solo better than others but thats what the mission slider is for.
