it is a nice 8 inch matress with different layers - foam and that other stuff??

no complaints.
nice sleep. except the wood frame IS LOUD. help!

will get new frame/futon when i move.

i can sleep on regular beds, but they need to be harder. i don't like soft beds or soft pillows = sore back and neck.
:(
Same.

My girlfriend is opposite. Quite the conundrum.

We need one of those Sleep Number beds... lol

I slept on one with my gf all last school year.

I got the frame for free from her older sister (one of those crappy cheap metal ones).

I replaced the craptastic pad with a 10" foam one that I got at a store called "bed and bunk".
Then I put a few layers of cardboard between the pad and the bars.

I have some pics of the cardboard in my sig under my bass shaker installation :p.

I didn't have any problems sleeping on it / using it in other ways.... and would have slept next year on it too, but my gf was not too pleased with it.

So, I got to get new speakers and she got to buy a bed for us :D

I slept in a futon for the 3 months that I was in Baltimore. NOT a good way to sleep at all. My back was giving me problems and if you want to sleep with someone else on it... forget it, it gets 10 times worst.

My back was in pain, thus i got a real bed.

Sofa beds are alright, an improvement over futons nonetheless. Ikea sells them.

I have one similar to the one you linked to. I have no problems sleeping on it, I like a firm mattress though.

i currently do.
fine on my back, i would say great for fornication, in that it takes up little room but can expand to larger.
but mine is broken (granted, after about 7 years) and is stuck down.

I had a metal one... slept on it for a few weeks, while I was getting a new bed. I didn't have any problem with it... could feel the frame a little, but not *too* bad. If I had to sleep on it more permanently, I would definitely get a very thick mattress, and put it on top of the crappy one that's on it. I doubt I would have too much of a problem with that.

I've been sleeping on one for over three years. Granted it's an inner spring mattress and I have a down pillowtop on top of it. I can't stand even sitting on those metal framed thin mattress ones though, I can see that really screwing up your back.
