Anybody remember Manute Bol?

I met him one day...

He shook my hand and the tips of his fingers reached up to my elbow

I was like 12 at the time!

Poor Manute, he's a good guy. I remember when he went on that 3 point shooting binge when he was on the Warriors, that was funny.

I remember seeing him play when I was 10 or so. My dad took me down to floor level during warmups and he was standing right there. I was amazed, of course.
He used to shoot the trey surprisingly well. People would yell "NUUUUUUUTE"! 🙂

Heck yes, I saw him play a bunch of times in college. I had a friend that was a cheerleader for the University of Bridgeport's basketball team, so we went to a lot of games. UB is an NCAA Division II school, so watching a 7'7" guy against that caliber of play was pretty funny. 'Nute would just stand there in the lane and swat away everything that came near him and dunk uncontested without jumping. It wasn't unusual for him to get a triple double in points, rebounds and blocked shots. Of course, when he got to the NBA it was a different story. 7'7" and 190 pounds just isn't the right body type.

<< i just remember that saturday night live sketch where he is a ship captain 🙂 >>

thats what i think about when i hear the name. The cruise that comes with Manute Bbol LOL!!!

<< How come he stopped playing anyway? >>

He played for 10 years, time to retire. Plus, all he could really do was block shots.

"Enjoy the beautiful clear blue oceans of the Carribean...with NBA basketball star Manute Bol!" <<manute waves>>

<< bring Manute Bol back....NBA needs someone to contain Shaq >>

LOL That would've been funny... the closest guy I could see is Keith Floss or something like that...whatever his name was.
