Depends what you mean by detail. $300 isn't much more than a hand wash and wax, maybe a clay bar and fast polish of major body panels. A real detailing job to better than factory can take several days of meticulous hand work 8 hours a day under 1500 watt halogens.
$300 for a wash and a wax? Anyone who pays that much for a glorified car wash is a complete idiot.

In my experience you're exaggerating a bit here.Depends what you mean by detail. $300 isn't much more than a hand wash and wax, maybe a clay bar and fast polish of major body panels. Half an hour for wheel wash, hour for paint wash, half an hour for clay, half an hour to tape off properly, hour and a half to polish, half an hour to wax, hour for cleanup... sounds about rightIn my experience you're exaggerating a bit here.
$300 should get you wash, clay, polish and sealant...maybe a top-coat wax for extra shine.
