Its been a bit since it came out, and I was wondering, has anyone been playing this game at all?

I heard there were (are) some issues with gameplay... have they patched those up yet? Comments?

I've been playing nonstop for the past few days.. and yeah, there are some issues in gameplay right now. The biggest problem is the unlimited tanks. Later on they're supposed to put in limits to how much high-end equipment can be on the field.. right now the ratio of tanks to infantry is about 10/1, when it's supposed to be much bigger.. in the opposite direction. It's a great game though, they'll get it all figured out eventually.

they are all chars actually. no tigers in yet i dont think. the game sucks ass at this point. it's so freakin buggy it's unbelievable. very unstable for most people. just go read their forums. 5 out of 6 servers were unplayable last night because there is a bug that wont let you click the "go" button. nothing happens and the only way it can be fixed is for the server to be rebooted. the fps is horrendous. in the single digits when fighting. crash to desktop constantly. dont let the fanboys tell you otherwise, this game is pure junk at this point. it's more frustrating than anything.
classic athlon 800
256mb pc133
geforce2 gts
ping <15ms to the servers (live near them)
i get about 8 fps in combat in a plane, the only aspect of the game i was looking forward to. it could have a lot of potential if they can get it stable and fast. the game takes 5 minutes to load for crying out loud. the game data is 77 megs out of the box. you have to download about 73 megs in patches. one is 68 megs and was out before boxes were even on the shelves in stores. that should tell you something.

and sfi2.com just read the forums. caveat empor.

I agree. I have not played the game yet but i have been watching the forums and there are lots of problems right now. I am going to buy it? Hell yeah. The thing is that once they get the game fixed it will be awsome and is so revolutionary that I think it will be worth this little bit of agrevation. So maybe hold out for a couple of weeks and then take a look and see the state of the game. I think it will be awsome.

Games like this and UO are always buggy like CRAP when they come out. I would recommend that if its that bad just put it down for like 4 months and come back. No use in being a beta tester for the place. I went through this agony with UO. Don't let yourself go through it too!

Asheron's Call was perfectly fine when it launched. They had like a 6 month beta test before hand as well.

Gee, I wonder why it was perfect at launch... :) honestly, I almost died laughing when they shipped this without an open beta. I originally though this was supposed to ship in the fall and the summer would be used for beta, but I guess they decided to drop that idea... pity, because there is no way I am buying this game, whether it works right or not, without trying it first.

yeah ive been playing uo since beta 2. this is a little different though imo. uo shipped as a complete game. the central parts of the game were working. everquest was the same; server problems, lag etc. granted uo took a while to fix, it was still playable (though with frequent crashes).

this game is simply unplayble. horrid framerates and the core of the game isnt there. it is just one big free for all at this point. it would be like everquest or uo shipping without the magic systems.

they majorly screwed over their customers. $40 to play a game that, again imo, isnt even beta quality. they should have learned from everquest and ultima online's mistakes, or asherons call relatively smooth launch. they stated that the game wouldnt be purchased at retail (only for people who wanted to). it would be downloadable for free and just a monthly fee. they also promised an open beta, which they yanked right before the release date went to press. i understand that they ran out of money, and it was either ship it or shut the doors, but both the producer and developer should be embarrased with what they have released.

the box says things that arent in the game, this is why uo was sued. there are already lawsuits filled for the same reason (fraud) against crs. crs and strategy first simply dont have the capital like EA or Sony does to just blow this off.

i think it has a lot of potential, but it's about 9 months pre-mature.
