Picked up the latest humble bundle because of a couple of the other games, but I watched the trailer for Reassembly and it looked like something up my alley. Top-down style isometric space shooter with some neat features, sort of similar to SPAZ in some respects but very different in general.

For starters, the whole thing is "open world", there is no porting between systems. Combat is very similar to SPAZ imho, but the fun part is how ship damage is modeled - pieces of your ship get destroyed but slowly regenerate over time. You only truly get destroyed when your command module blows up. The whole thing makes for a very nice free form game.

Everything is destructable (except your allies). There's fleet command options. But the best part of the game is probably the mostly-free form ship building. If you dream it up, you can build it. A bunch of different weapon options, several different hull primitive types and the design system is just intuitive enough to make building "lightly complex".

The only gripes I have are that the physics in the game are still a little wonky. Gravity in some places seems way off and you end up getting "stuck" to stuff inexplicable which can get frustrating at times.

http://www.anisopteragames.com/ for a look at the game. Should still be on Humble Bundle if it tickles your fancy.

Steam has this as part of their Weekly Sale for $10.04 which is essentially what it runs on HumbleBundle. Have it on my wishlist, so may pick it up today.

The humble bundle is arguably worth more given the inclusion of the other titles all for $10. :)

By the way, the music in it is most definitely enjoyable. It's actually a highlight of the game. The difficulty of the game should be noted as well. There are some points where you just die... over... and... over... and... over... within seconds of respawning.

I thought that too until I started looking at some of the other games....:p

Starmade looks like it's coming along pretty good. I played the alpha a long time ago, it was "interesting", but very raw and unpolished back then.

But I also wanted Edge of Space (Terraria meets Contra). So either way there was a few other games in the bundle that made the bundle value worth more than just paying for Reassembly alone. :)

To each their own of course.

just grabbed reassembly based on this thread and four minutes of gameplay video. looks really fun. Didn't get it from Humble though - no real interest in the other games in the bundle and Steam is cheaper for just reassembly right now (Canada; Humble is USD).

Hard as hell though! The enemy agents just randomly come around and depending on which level they decide to be they just dominate the hell out of you.

Yeah, some of the agents are brutal. There was one group that steamrolled my 60 ship fleet. I'm still trying to work out some ship designs to counter it without resorting to a cheap-tactic omnidirectional movement auto-firing laser cube. :\

Yeah I got it, made a fraking ugly ship loaded with guns and shields. Here's an early stage image of the ship. I have now added some hulls in the front and loaded it with more guns, shields and engines. I can now simply float around and shoot everything. The only ships that give me a hard time are Agents and huge ships with lots of lasers lol.

BTW, what's the point of this game? Simply building ships and killing stuff?

Question: How do you change the colors? Is it only part of a faction or you can edit the color all you want? Can't seem to find it so my guess is it's dependant on the faction...?

Is there a place where I can go to find ships other people have built? It's fun building them but my designs tend to suck apparently. Would be more fun to augment other people's designs.

You select your colors at the beginning when you start, but I also think you can change the colors when you go to customize your ship. I forget what the button layout is but I'm pretty sure there's a button that will let you customize the colors.

The steam page has links to other peoples' ships, so I presume you can download them. I honestly haven't looked! Given that there is multiplayer in the game I presume that you have to be able to download somehow.

Found it... hit 'U', go to the "Profile" tab. Change your favorite colors from there.
