anybody own a Tacoma?

I love the slightly older models, like '98-'99. They've butchered the headlights and front grill section on the newer ones..

But anyhow, anybody have one? How do they drive? And what's the difference between the "pre-runner" models and the xtra-cab ones, they both have an xtra-cab right? And do the pre-runner models come with the TRD off road package or is that a different model altogether?

Just bought a 2001 Toyota Tacoma Xtra Cab 4WD. I got the 2.7 4 cyl w/ auto trans. If you need more power, get the 3.4 V6 (you can get that supercharged also!) I don't need that much since I pretty much will be using it as a commuter vehicle primarily and some travel. The 4WD will not see much off-road, it's mainly for getting up all the hills where we live in the snow and ice. A Prerunner is a 2WD made to look like it's 4WD. It is lifted up higher than standard 2WD models and large tires/wheels. The idea is to be cheaper than standard 4WD. (seemed like a WEAK idea to me...just get the 4WD if that's what you want). If you are going to be doing a lot of off-road stuff, they say get the TRD package for the stiffer shocks, etc. For normal road driving, TRD gives a rougher ride. So far I love my truck and if it lives up to the Toyota reputation, it should be running good for a long time!

I just picked up a 2002 Tacoma Prerunner V6. I like it alot, good power and nice handleing. I am happy with it.
