I've seen a great lack of noise about this board in any forums. AnandTech seemed to think it was great except for the fact that they couldn't go higher than like 385 fsb. Anybody OCing a Conroe with this board? Have you seen any good OCing numbers on other forums? (Linky?)
That's one thing I'm not completey getting with this generation of CPU and ocing... Why does it matter that they hit 385 FSB limit? If your proc is limited to say 6x mult, you'd be stuck at 2310MHz, correct? Is this independent from memory frequency? Am I correct in assuming the problem here is not that the memory is flaking out at 770MHz (385x2), but the FSB has an actual seperate limit from memory?
Ok, so my proc on order is the E6600. 9x mult, if I'm correct. On that proc, 385x9 = 3465MHz. Mem @ 770MHz I think.
Is that not ideal? Would the situation of 495MHz FSB x 7 mult = 3465MHz be better somehow? (Obviously you'd have to do a divider on the memory speed... Not sure what dividers you're locked to with mobos these days...)
