I hear you can't change the multiplier on this board so I'm wondering how people are OCing this board with just using the fsb. Thanks for any replies!

I don't own one personally but from my experience it's a very nice board for FSB overclocking.

I OC'ed my 1.33 266MHz to 1.4GHz while running the FSB at 140MHz. Just bumped it up in the BIOS. Took all of 2 minutes. Now for the problem of not being able to adjust the multiplier, there is a way to do it albeit a long process. Asus prefabricated the IC board with a footprint for the 5-dip dipswitch. By soldering on the 5-set dipswitch and two resistors, you can control the CPU multiplier.

Asus has done this with some of their other mobos: It satisfies AMD's efforts to prevent people from OC'ing but allows true geeks :) full control of OC-ability of their mobos. I've been told an step by step instructions can be found on the web...

Depending upon the bios and video card I have used I reached 155fsb with a 1.33 without any stability issues. With the released 1004 bios, a GF3, and some memory tweaking I am able to run 145 without issues. I will go to 150 now for certain games when needed. Without the GF3 there are no issues running at 150 with this board.

read the review below, and you know how far you can oc this board. it's still one of the best AMD 760 boards around.

AMDPwred,

The standard multiplier of the 1.2Ghz chip would depend if it is a 200Mhz bus or 266Mhz bus nativly. If it is a 200Mhz FSB version, then the multiplier is defaulted to 12 (12x100). If the CPU is set to run for 266Mhz bus, then the multiplier would be 9 (9x133).

Chainbot, I read your great article that you linked and the dipswitch mod. Can I ask a really dumb question? I have one of these boards on order with a 1.4 athlon, but where do you get the right dipswitch? It sounds like you are adding it after they removed it.

Thanks
