Anybody notice a surge in spam?

I use gmail for email. I typically only get one spam in my inbox every few months. However, the past two days, I have had 6 spams in my inbox.

Is something going on with some botnet or did my email just end up on some list?

I used a secondary gmail for registering at websites. My primary gmail gets about 20-30 spam emails a day but I haven't seen any make it to the inbox.

It's only my gmail account that gets the spam, and I didn't really sign up for many things using it. My primary e-mail address that I own gets maybe one or two a day (and it's through this freaking canalmail.com and I have no idea how to get rid of it), gmail accumulated 6 today so far.

I get a few hundred spam per day on my @iceteks.com emails, but my home server spam filter catches pretty much all of it. I get an occasional false negative.

Last few weeks, my main email, which I use at a lot of places, has seen its spam increase significantly. To the pace of 40 to 50 spam emails a day. Not 100% sure why it spiked, but I'm in the process of transitioning to a newly created address that I'll use for select things.

lol, I remember when 6 spam emails was like a day off :laugh:

I'm saying 6 that get through to my inbox. I get about 100 per day in my spam folder. Its just that now a few are slipping past the spam filters.

Postini works wonders. I see a spam e-mail in my Inbox about once a month I do believe.

I actually see a steep drop-off in the volume of spam that I receive. I don't use gmail, I use domain-based e-mail.
