One of our supermarkets used something like that during the August, 2003 Blackout to keep every single light/cooling unit on in their store. I had to go into work that morning at 5:30 a.m. and seeing that building all lit up like a beacon of gloriousness in the middle of PITCH BLACK roads was so totally awesome. I wanted to cry. 🙁

Yea... backup generators are a hot ticket.. lots of places need/use them.

I'm quite sure it was a bit smaller than this unit, though. 😉 2mW (That's 2000kW - 2,000,000W..) is a lot.. I wasn't joking when I said run a town/small city. :Q

Quite spendy at 450k, too.

I have no idea how much a power a supermarket would use, I imagine all those fridge/freezer compressors would really suck the juice starting up..

Maybe 100kW? Just a guess.. lol

A typical home would only need 10 - 15kW... maybe 25+ if you need to run everything..
