Hmm, I remember buying these BRAND NEW when they first came out for like $120 ea. WTF? Is inflation that bad?

I think you're mistaken, the RX 470 was cheaper and much faster. You might be remembering the plain GTX 1050 2 GB.
Perhaps I forgot the "/s" in the OP, but I did buy some 4GB ti models off of Newegg for $120. The 2GB non-ti was $99.

I was basically making fun of the fact that these are going for MORE money than an RTX 2060 "new".

Is there some new crypto out there that I should be mining?

In Lithuania (Europe) they go for 200 EUR new. If it was Lithuanian only inflation, then it wouldn't look bad at all, because food goes up by like 20-30% every month. So yeah, it's "cheap".
