Here's what I've got going so far and I love it:

The Vaselines
Mogwai
Boards of Canada
Franz Ferdinand
Belle & Sebastian
The Delgados
Idlewild
The Jesus and Mary Chain


And AC/DC doesn't quite count, they came from Australia first, IIRC. :D

Those ARE my favorites. Mogwai is definitely up there on my list of favorite artists, and I own (yes purchased with actual dollars) every one of their albums and they all get heavy rotation in my CD player.

Yeah, they are the first I listened to out of all these bands save probably the JAMC and maybe the Vaselines, but they were the first I actually bought CD's for. Young Team still blows the rest away, IMHO.

Tannahill Weavers, though I'm more into the Irish celtic music (Clannad, Altan, Joemy Wilson).

Waterboys were cool, especially Fisherman's Blues.
