Anybody knows about MINI ITX?

i was Reading an article about MINI ITX FORM FACTOR. Does anybody have any idea on what that is??

Who makes them, where can i find them, are they out yet. etc?

It's a really small square form factor. Usually low power and silent.
Nano-ITX is the new mini.

mini-ITX is a very small form factor. VIA is almost the only one to make any mini-ITX hardware, although I believe I've seen a mini-ITX motherboard for Pentium M. It's been available for quite some time now.

mini-ITX.com has news blurbs, projects, and a store (they're in Britain though) devoted to mini-ITX stuff.

Viatech.com makes them. They are based on small form factor mobos of about 7x7", and fit on the standard ATX/mATX mounting hole pattern so they can fit just about any type of case. Very low power - generally don't need any (or very little) active cooling. Great for HTPC and such. Performance wise, they don't give a Socket A Duron of over 1 GHz any competition except in the noise dept.
. The new Tt Mozart TX case can hold one of those Plus a regular full-sized ATX mobo so they can split the load...😉 People build them into all sorts of things - I've seen them built into toasters, humidors, lunch buckets, purses, brief cases, various plasic models and RC toys, etc. etc...

Various companies makes cases/housings, power supplies and even motherboards based on this form factor, though VIA makes the largest variety of motherboards, and AFAIK the only company that makes nano-ITX boards. AFAIK VIA only makes the boards and not the cases or other parts.

There are boards to support almost whatever CPU you want, from the low end but silent VIA CPUs, to socket 478 Pentium 4/Celeron, to socket LGA 775 Pentium D (so much for low power 😛 ), to AMD Geode (basically low voltage socket A), to Celeron M, to Pentium M, to even Core Duo.

How's this for a $315 17cm by 17cm powerhouse?

except for the fact that they can run core 2 duos (merom) procesors...
