Airlink apsusb201 wired print server but connected to wireless router so effectively working as a wifi print server....

First thing needed is to use Airlink's PS Utility that finds the port name, device, etc. You can adjust IP, gateway, etc. but on my network standard settings are always correct.

Grab daughter's Asus Eeee 1000ha netbook running WinXP like every computer in the house and it simply will not find the print server using Airlink's PS utility.

I can even get to the print server's menu via 192.168.0.101 but still can't find device!!!!!

What gives???? (I'm about to lose my mind here)

Son of a Aaarrggggg!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I googled just to see if anybody might have experienced the same thing. Well, it was with a 'trend net' print server, but same thing applied.

Turn off Windows firewall............and Presto!!!!!!!! Problem solved!!!

OK this gets better (as I have this conversation with myself)........

On the laptop I'm now typing on (Dell 600m).....it's running WinXP Home SP3 just like my daughter's netbook and on this one, I'd recently had to put a new HD in it so I hadn't had a chance to setup the printer so figure now'd be a great time to test, right??

Well, on this one I didn't have to turn XP's firewall off. PS Utility found the print server just fine.

Now I'm really like................... WTF??????????????

Cleaned up foul language per Jack's request.......(clockwork orange emoticon here)

Still lookin' for possible answers on this one.

Anybody got an idea as to why one laptop needed the XP firewall off and the other didn't??

The utility is probably using its own port, may be you can find out which port is used by the utility and open it through the Firewall.

Turn off windows firewire and download Comodo to handle your firewall. I have the airlink print server as well and you don't even need PS-Link. PS-Link just does the discovery for you. In the print server manager, just assign it a static IP and in control panel, add printer and add that IP as your printer. No more PS-Link!
