just wondering if the stock hsf on the e7200 is ok for oc to 333fsb... the copper core hsf works great on my e4500's and e2180's... i haven't tried the all alum one that came with the e2180...

the e8400 comes with a tiny aluminum hsf so i am near positive the e7200 would have same. as far as OC'ing i think you might want a upgrade hsf. if you want to go from 2.53 to 3.0Ghz thats a decent overclock.

haven't gotten a retail 45nm chiop yet, so haven't seen the hsf... the stocker that comes with the 4xxx's and the 6xxx's i have gotten are great for the frys bargain 2xxx and 4xxx combo's... when u can't up the voltage the copper core one works fine...

It's the regular aluminum HSF just like the one the E8400 has. I think only the higher-end 45nm quads have the copper-base one, and the extreme processors have the big HSF... just for the heck of it.

I'm using the stock HSF on my 7200 and OC'd to 3.1Ghz and I run 30C idle and 55C load.

Did you increased your voltage for that?

I kept the voltage on auto, and it increased to 1.18 - 1.2
