Any ideas? this is holding up my order for all my components for a gaming rig.

I tried all the usual suspects: newegg(out, they say they are expected in late this afternoon-we'll see), monarch(out) gamepc(got plenty, and even though they let me purchase one online, they won't sell it to me after all-only using them to build their own systems right now) Memex in Canada(they are checking right now about shipping me one-if they can and how much it will cost me)

Are there any other sources I have not thought of??

I dont' want to get ripped, but don't mind paying a little higher than normal. I have the week off between Christmas and New Years and that's my window to build my rig!!

thanks for any ideas you might have..

I have been on Froogle and Yahoo! Shopping all week doing the same, must have 20 requests for Stock Alert emails in with different e-tailers. Take your shot with the Egg this afternoon, but realize there are probably hundreds if not thousands of people getting ready to do the same thing. It is so bad I was at NewEgg not 4 minutes after the last in-stock alert and I was too late.

Only other thing I can suggest is do what I did: troll eBay hourly and hope to get lucky by being the first to find a newly posted Buy It Now! auction at or close to the retail price. The trick is to stay out of the regular biding auctions as they are getting just insane, several going for $400+ and one for $561!!!! Plus you have to wait for auction end. But every now and then a retailer will pop one out there at "normal" price $220-$260 with Buy It Now. They go fast obviously so you have to check regularly, and you have to mind the seller's feedback rating and verify if returns are a possibility or not. I got lucky, bought for MSRP from a seller with 99.7% positive feedback and a 30 day returns policy. As always YMMV, but that's all I can suggest if the Egg fails and time is of the essence. Good luck.

LOL, I understand, but that's one of our problems, don't you think? All I can do is share what little wisdom I have accumulated at my advanced age, that being I have found often my appreciation of something is directly proportional to the non-monetary investment of time and energy spent on it, and I think in 20 years when I am trying to overclock my 24 core optical processor I will look back and remember the A8N32 was that board that I worked so hard to get and (kepping fingers crossed here) over-clocked the bejeezus out of my opty. Compared to what is out there now the A8N32 really is a special board. Setting the x16 chipset aside, as that is/will be available from all manufacturers, the features that really sold me are the 8 phase power and fanless chipset cooling, features that I think will become standard on all high end motherboards in the future even if only because the marketing guys will be crying for specs to line up against the A8N32's

$400 & $561 for a A8N32?? Ouch! Thats crazy. Glad I'm waiting till after the holiday rush. Some early buyers are making a killing this year on ebay it looks like. Buy a mobo early and make a 100% profit on ebay. Yep, capitalism is great. ;-)

I don't know who the "big" online retailers are. I'm in the same boat as the poster in that I can't find them anywhere, so I figure I might as well get in line somewhere. My question is what online retailers might be getting the most of them in stock most frequently?

$550
$450
$561
$340
I thought very briefly about selling mine when it gets here, but I am firmly of the opinion that an A8N32-SLI Deluxe will get me through times of no money better than money will get me through times of no A8N32-SLI Deluxe :)

20 per customer?? LOL Godzooks!... you'd think they could have lowered the max per customer. One person probably bought the entire stock in one order. LMAO

anybody know anything about neximaging.com?

They show 143 in stock and that number has not changed all day. Out on pricegrabber, they only have 2.5 stars out of 5 from 8 reviewes. A few stellar and a few terrible. $299, which is the absolute max I will pay, and that's what they have it for....I've been tempted.

i think I have a plan. The Canadian folks who wouldn't ship to the US. I have a collegue who works in Toronto for my company and owes me a few. I may buy the board, have it shipped to him, then he can UPS it to me. $31 from Toronto to Ohio.

I wouldn't go to such links, but it looks like this could be a couple of months before this insanity stops and everybody gets stocked. meanwhile, I'm waiting to order all components for a killer gaming rig I want to build!!!

Do you happen to know if they're actually getting shipments on a regular basis? it just seems you might have just gotten lucky and gotten one right when the shipment arrived.

To clarify, my question is really whether or not these stores are getting lots of little shipments that are gone instantly, or if they just get a large shipment every few weeks or so, that just sells out really fast. I'm trying to decide whether or not to pre-order it from somebody like Tigerdirect or pay a little extra to get it elsewhere.

thanks for the ebay advice. I keep forgetting that EVERYTHING is available on ebay. I found someone who got burned on their first auction by a ghost bidder and had to relist. I made an offer and they accepted(and I can still pay the mortgage this month!) I paid more than at newegg, but this could go on for a couple of months, so I just wanted it to be over with...

I actually saw one out there with a starting bid of $325 and a buy it now of $550. But hey, capitalism is a beautiful thing......

Oh, and regarding nex imaging....I saw in the very very fine print, "not available until at least 12/23/05"......but they have 143 in stock???

Thanks again for the help folks!

I am waiting for one of these as well. Luckily I have a fairly solid board to use in the meantime so I can wait out the price gouging. I have a pre-order/backorder in at PCUniverse for $212 shipped.

This board seems to be the pc version of the XBOX360 as far as availability goes.

Personally, I think its little shipments that go fast. They seem to get one a week at best. There are some places that cant get any shipments at all. Then there are some places that are waiting for ASUS to gurantee a steady supply which so far ASUS cant.

Just to give you folks hope:

an ebay'r got burned when his card sold at auction for $550!-buyer reniged on him. he had started it at $240 which is what he paid. He received two of them from an etailer and decided not to build his 2nd PC at this time.

He relisted it at the original $240 last night. I offered him $300. He accepted late last night after I went to bed. When I checked today, it was at $340. He called me on my cell phone, and told me he would end the auction early if I would go out and be the high bidder at closing time. I did, and it closed at $355.

He only charged me the original $300 we had agreed on, and even took it to UPS today, and I have the tracking number. he didn't have to do it. I'm sure he would have finally gotten a legite buyer to pay whatever high price the auction would finally end at.

There really are straight up people out there on ebay with this card....you just have to fine 'em.

Good luck everyone-I'm almost giddy...

Yeah, I had an In Stock Alert/Auto-Notify set up on that and got nothing, not even in my spam trap. Went to NewEgg and my account still shows I have a request in to be notified. Good to know that does not work.

They sold out fast. Makes you wonder how many they get in a shipment. Cant be too many I'm thinking
