Hey All,

Does anybody happen to know what phone appears in the new Batman, or is it some phone that doesn't actually exist yet? It looked pretty slick to me.

Thanks in advance,
Trevor

It's a Nokia Xpressmedia 5800 "Tube". It's Nokia's first all-touchscreen phone and it's not released yet.
Not much is known about it yet except that it supports 3G (Europe and AT&T, but probably not T-Mobile USA's frequency band) and it has WiFi built-in. It has a touchscreen that works with a finger, or with a built-in stylus. It will run the Symbian S60-touch UI OS. It has a 3.2MP digital camera (with Carl Zeiss optics) and has a flash.

Rumors say that it will be released in late-Q3/early-Q4 this year.

Thanks, pm! So, aren't Nokia's now being sold only as unlocked phones (the cooler Nokia's anyway), rather than subsidized phones thru a cellular carrier? I liked how it looked, but I'll never pay more that $200 for a phone. :)

They vary - a lot of Nokia's are subsidized, although I think you are mostly right. The N-series hasn't been picked up by a US carrier but it is subsidized in Canada. It's hard to say whether or not the 5800 will be subsidized.

It's funny but I'm the opposite. I don't want to pay more than $500 for a cell phone, but I absolutely refuse to sign a contact.

To me, I figure I'm going to have to pay it anyway if I actually want to use the phone, so might as well have them subsidize the cost of the phone--until they allow phones to be used on any network.

So, I'm curious, if you buy a phone with no contract, are you able to get month-to-month contracts somehow?
