Do not use Dreamhost, they are AWFUL. If you haven't read about their billing fiasco earlier this year it makes for an entertaining read but it was a massive pain in the ass for all involved, including myself. To add salt to the wound the fucking idiot who runs the company treated the whole incident like one big joke while myself and thousands of others missed rent payments and couldn't go grocery shopping because these fucking assholes stole money from our accounts and didn't refund it for over a week. Fuck Dreamhost and fuck anyone who supports these criminals.

Edit - it should be noted that the billing fiasco is not the only issue I have with DH, but it is the most major. They also lost a cluster of servers a couple of years ago, leaving many of us without working websites for over 2 weeks. Their service is slow and intermittent, their database servers go down often and the owner of the company (who is also their spokesman) is a fucking childish, unprofessional piece of shit.

Yeah, the billing fiasco I know about. I wasn't affected, but I feel for all those who were. I didn't know about the server loss, though that may be before I started using DreamHost (been with them for about 2 years). I haven't had any problems with DreamHost myself, but your experience with them sounds awful.

I'm going to have to give a thumbs down to Cernax: my account/webpage has been unaccessible for 9+ months and e-mails to the helpdesk go unanswered.

I got in contact with Agaboogaboo directly and he left me hanging with a "I'll take care of it today/tomorrow" with no change in status and no response to requests for updates.

On top of all this, I keep getting billed even after explicitly asking to simply have my service cancelled.

If you are paying $2.50 a month for 2.5TB you are buying oversold hosting. Quality/uptime from oversold hosts sucks. asmallorange is good and they don't oversell. PM me and I can get you a discount.

Well, after 3 years with webhostingbuzz, I am finally getting a new web host. I was a noob when I signed up for their $5/month shared plan.
