Anybody know of an attachment for a drill that would work like a dremel?

back in high school in my electronics class we used nibblers to make rectangular holes in our project boxes for power switches (we had a hydrolic hole punch to make holes, i wish i had one of those babies now). they were fine with small holes on sheet metal, but what SXMP was right in what he said. to work on cases, which are significantly thicker than sheet metal, and to make large 80-120mm holes, you will need lots of muscle, time, and tolerance for pain. if you don't want to invest in a dremel, then at least use tin snips, they're no more than $15. be sure to get a curved one if you're going to use it to make holes.

Yuck, doesn't sound like any fun at all. Forget that, going to home depot for the aviation snips. When I cut with these, will they leave the metal rough or sharp? What would I use to smooth it?

tigereye, the cut made by tin snips isn't too rough or sharp, but idealistically you'd want to finish it up with a sanding bit on a dremel. but that defeats the whole purpose of not buying a dremel. just be careful and go slowly when snipping it, then you'll have no problems.
