Anybody know how to turn this damn thing off ? The help file mentions rhat it can be done but doesn't say how.

Thanks

The one that win XP SP2 adds to IE.

I have turned off downloading of active X components completely and still get the stupid information bar telling me it's turned off. Hell, I know it's turned off, I turned it off. I don't need this annoying bar telling me evey time I go to a site that uses flash (like this one).

Yeah, it's such a dumb idea, that firefox copied it.

Tools, internet options, security tab, custom level. "Automatic prompting for ActiveX controls" -- enable. "Automatic prompting for file downloads" -- enable.

Nope, didn't work. i still get that stupid message that my security settings don't allow active x controls to be installed. what I'd really like to do is just turn the damn information bar off completely.
