I think our Kenmore Coldspot unit is a whirlpool model. The model number is 106-something. It came with the house and is about 8 years old. I don?t know when it was last changed so I want to replace it. But after looking all over both the fridge and freezer side I can?t find the damn filter. I thought it was be an easy change but I never had a water dispenser before so I don?t know. Any idea on where the filter is located? I called sears and they told me to go ask a sales guy from a local store but I haven?t had the time to go there yet. I?m not sure how much the local pimple face sales reps know about an 8 year old fridge.

I pulled the bottom plastic off the fridge before to check. after I vacuumed the dust all I saw was the coils and more dust. I didn?t think they would make changing the filter such a hassle by hiding it in inaccessible spots so I tried to look for the obvious. But I failed.

no, i just assumed it would...maybe it doesn't and thats why i can't find it. I just installed a RO unit under the sink so its not a big deal if i can't make the fridge water taste better. but i thought all fridge with water dispensers have filters...

no, we've had 3 and none have, then again, we run an inline filter to the fridge anyway.
