Anybody know anything about video cards getting old and freezing mice and keyboards?

Every half an hour or so they both freeze, the system continues to run which is weird. When I uninstalled drivers for the card I haven't had the problem, although I would like to use my monitor at higher than 640x480 and 16 colors.

you should go to the web and updated your video card drivers

Well you arent being specific to what card you have, amount of ram, and what monitor you are trying to use.. old video cards have little ram and support only lower resolutions and large monitor support would be near impossible with high res and large desktop sizes. Have you tried lower res and smaller desktop with the drivers installed? Latest drivers? And some old cards are fixed frequency only ..
