Wondering what plan (if any) counts for the new ACA law?

Will Medicare Part A work, or do you need to pay for Part B to avoid the ACA penalties?

I've looked online and chatted with the medicare people, and as you would expect of the government they are clueless. Wondering if anybody here has accidentally found out or somehow has useful information?

I'm a healthcare provider and I work with Medicare fairly regularly. I was under the impression that if you have Medicare, you automatically have Medicare Parts A and B. Part A is for inpatient stuff (hospital stays, surgeries, etc) while Part B is for outpatient stuff (doctor's visits, physical therapy [me]). I believe Part C is the supplemental portion and that assists with prescriptions you buy.

That's entirely wrong...

A is free, B is extra crap for money, C is a combo of A and B, and D is the prescription coverage.

But I don't know if A alone is enough for ACA, or if medicare even counts at all.

You're right about it being extra. Just looked it up and Medicare Part B is definitely for outpatient services. It is, however, apparently optional.
