Anybody know anything about InFocus projectors?

Last night we were having some problems with an InFocus LP280 projector. We finally got it to work right, & watched Resident Evil without further incident.

We turned it on today to play some GT3, and it's doing it again. It's almost as if it's reversing one of the color channels.

Like this

Anybody know what could cause this?

It's corrupting the InFocus screen, so it's obviously not signal quality or cable related.

No drivers required, the picture I posted was it sitting at it's built in screen - No input whatsoever.

Is it a DLP projector? Or an LCD or CRT projector?

If using component cables, are all the ones plugged in to the proper port? It almost appears if the red part of the image has been reversed!

You might want to try over at AVSForum as one of the experts over there should be able to help you.

Check your connections. Try a different cable. If connecting from a computer try lowering the resolution. Turn the lens and try and focus the projector. Reset the projector.

These are some of the things I would always try with my infocus machine to try and get it to display right. Hope this helps.

It's an LCD projector.

The screen you're seeing right now is built into the projector - Like a menu screen - There is no video source connected right now, thus cables + connection issues can be eliminated.

The projector has been reset numerous times, focused & generally tweaked trying to fix it - With no luck. It seems to work/not work at random.

It does have a build in menu option, on that menu it even has a "reset to factory defaults" option, that is what Viper means by "The projector has been reset numerous times".

Cables connected do not matter as every screen does this, the image in the link is of the InFocus screen itself (the one that loads before it even looks for a signal). TheGoodGuy hinted that he had a similar problem and it ended up being a call to InFocus for repair, anyone else had similar problems or solutions? I would like to use it tonight and/or tomorrow, however if I cant get it working I'll be calling them on Monday.

PS, it does work some of the time. The only thing that we've been able to do to try and get it working is to shut it off, wait a few min. and turn it back on (crossing our fingers of course). However this is not a real solution.... :D

By any chance you guys drop it?

Cause Infocus said someone dropped it or gave it some massive shake to cause the problem we had. Yours might have something to do with it.

We didnt, however this is one of the projectors my department routinely checks out so I wouldn't be surprized if it has been dropped at least once or twice in the time we've had it...
