For the past 3 or 4 years me and a group of internet strangers formed a “family”, *wink wink*, to reduce the annual cost of the prime membership down to $16 per person. A couple of the participants were fellow ATOT members. Later on I found out amazon opened the sharing of the membership to other people besides real family.

It worked out fine w/o any hiccups over the years but eventually the rest of the group stopped buying from amazon so we did not renew the membership this year. However, I still buy from amazon and want the 2 day free shipping.

Anybody want to start a group and split the cost? It would be $16 per person for a group of 5 for a year.

If you want to do an end run around Amazon's stated policies, do it without using the forums. That way you won't have to ruin your eyes with all that "wink, winking."

If you can wait until Friday, count me in.

EDIT: checked the ToS, only allows for family members and coworkers :(

I thought the 'shared Prime' only works for people living in the same address.

Sharing Amazon Prime Benefits
Prime members under a free trial or paid subscription can share their shipping benefits with up to 4 additional family members living in the same household, or up to 4 coworkers to shop for the related account. Other Prime membership benefits such as Prime instant video and the Kindle Owners' Lending Library can't be shared.

To invite family members to share your Amazon Prime membership, sign in to Your Account and click on the link to "Manage Prime Membership." You'll see your current membership details, the status of all members linked to your Amazon Prime membership, and options to add or remove members.

Amazon Mom and Amazon Student members with Amazon Prime shipping benefits and customers receiving a free month of Amazon Prime benefits with Kindle Fire will not be able to share their benefits with additional people. All existing shared household members will continue to receive shipping benefits if the primary member switches to the Amazon Prime shipping benefits offered by one of these programs, however, the primary member will not be able to add or change shared household members if they move to one of these programs.
did you need to post to find your family members or coworkers?

I don't see where this is true: "Later on I found out amazon opened the sharing of the membership to other people besides real family."

If they did open it up to non-family/coworkers, I'd be in.

i thought a thread like this was created before and it got shut down?

i think the OP is offering to either adopt us, so we are family members, or , he just won the lottery and is starting his own company, so he will hire us to work for him, that way we are coworkers

seems legit to me

but NOT violate the TOS? just trying to clarify whether you want to do this in accordance with the amazon rules or if you want to not comply with the amazon TOS

just curious
