Hey, that's not cool. Dain is a good guy and is serving in the military (Marines) and happens to be in a strange place away from family on a holiday weekend. It's tough to be alone in a strange place...I know this from experience as I've moved away from family twice in my life and had to make new friends.
 Dain. We'll hook up for a beer sometime when you're on leave or just have a free evening.

Dude, I know where Dain is. I am just saying that for whatever reason there are a LOT of ATOT members that end up being somewhat alone during the holidays. I only moved to this town a couple months ago and other than my parents (150 miles away), I have no family within 1200 miles...so my options are limited...and there are alot of people in that situation.

I find it hilarious you guys are willing to meet forum strangers in person. Go call up a friend or something.
Wow, I just left as well.Originally posted by: oogabooga
I just left San Diego yesterday or I'd probably take some time to buy you a beer Dain.
Hope you have some fun, and if all else fails, gaslamp should have something going on everywhere almost.
 for you!
IMO, you can learn a good bit about a person based on their posts, especially if they've been here a while. It's kind of hard to put on a fake act for years and years, and thousands of posts.Originally posted by: pyonir

A lot of people here have met others in person. Hell, some marriages have been made here. I was roommates with a member here for a few months even. Friends can be made in a whole lot of mediums.
