Anybody here using webmin?

for some reason, I can't log in to my webmin server, when I could before. When I input my username and password, it just takes me back to the same login screen - without a "login failed" message. I know the name/pwd are right.

Anybody have any pointers?

Apparently you're not using the right username and password.

Either that or something has gone wrong. You're going to have to get at the system itself. Make sure the user accounts aren't corrupted or compromised.

nah, I know the login is correct. if i use any other login, it gives a "login failed" message. i've ssh'd in and restarted the server, but it still does the same thing. it may just be the browser on my end.

It might be worth it to try:

"Included with the Webmin distribution is a program called changepass.pl to solve precisely this problem. Assuming you have installed Webmin in /usr/ local/webmin-1.080, you could change the password of the admin user to foo by running

/usr/local/webmin-1.080/changepass.pl /etc/webmin admin foo"

Even if you know the login is right it will confirm it has to be your browser or something.

Only other thing I could think of is maybe there's an ACL for that login thats preventing it from logging in from your location? I don't know if webmin gives a different error message if its due to acls though

the thing that's weirding me out is that i've logged on perfectly fine from this computer before, and nothing (including ip) has changed. oh well, hopefully 1.08 will solve it.
