Hey, I drink my whiskey straight up. I guess you cant stand to drink gin straight up. ANYTHING can taste OK when you cover it enough. The test of a liquor is whether it can stand by itself.
I drink my JD straight up too, but I can chug any liquor as I have been blessed(?;)) with the ability to basicly take down anything... very fast

You ever take double shots of Everclear? Or just start chugging it out of the bottle?

never chugged everclear out of the bottle, but i've done double shots before
let's put it this way, I had a 5 shots of plastic bottle vodka in a tumbler and i downed it in less than 7 seconds

I don't drink very often though, maybe once or twice a month

But there are those who still try to appreciate the taste of a good whisky. Drinking something quickly means nothing to me. If the point is just to get high, there are other ways! I take my time with my Glenlivet. ;)

Alright old man, what do you drink?

If I'm drinking, which isn't as often as it used to be, it's usually beer or wine. What I keep on hand, for those rare occassions that I want something strong: Southern Comfort, Chevas Regal, Jack Daniels, Canadian Mist, and a Bailey's Irish Cream (and usually Frangelico, for my wife.) And a couple of bottles of cachaca (Brasilian sugar cane liquor) to make caipirinhas.

Truth be told, most of that is not even for me - the Jack Daniels and the Chevas is usually for guests.

No but I am a Maker's Mark Ambassador

huh? that went over my head

I like Makers, its like $20 a bottle. John Begg is a good scotch and Dad drinks it, so I can always drink his.

Jim Beam is tasty too.

Johnny blue is very smooth, but you'd have to be nucking futs to pay $135 for a bottle of scotch. It's good, but not THAT good. Also, if you like Johnny Walker, you may not like Makers Mark. It's a borboun.
