this is my favorite thread in a long time.

Oh, and caffeine, specifically N.O.Xplode in the morning (I hate coffee, one of the most vile, sickening things in the world, other than mushrooms). Very little, if any caffeine the rest of the day. Sorry, this 44 year old body and mind needs it.

Oh, thought you were talking about beer for a second.

Sounds like something you would take for a bad case of anal leakage.

Are you utilizing that for workouts, at all?

You can get quality energy for cheaper than a workout energy supplement - there's a lot there that is good, but otherwise worthless if the activity doesn't call for it.

I haven't used N.O.Xplode specifically, but I have never been done wrong by a BSN product yet. I've been meaning to try different products, but when I'm in gym-mode I use C4.

Was thinking of this yesterday as I made my second trip to the break room for Company-provided free coffee.

I wondered if there are any companies that pay a company "doctor" to write prescriptions for stimulants for their employees. On a large scale, it may give a company a slight edge over their competitors. Since there are no "spectators" there won't be the same scandal as with professional sports.

The DEA could bring the hammer down on the doctor, but the company could just hire a new one so long as there's no paper trail; something I know many corporations excel at.

I take Super NOS Blast about 30 minutes before each workout (but only at half strength - not sure my heart could handle full strength). It makes a huge difference in the quality of my workouts, and I've seen my gains rapidly increase since I started taking it 1-2 years ago.

That would be... hmm. I'm pretty sure that couldn't work out very well for long, but I haven't a clue how anything but loose-lips would bring that ship down.

Then again, loose-lips is a nasty affliction of the human condition, and it would happen very rapidly. Probably due to a jealous lover, ex, or someone else taunting over child custody or something.

The smart drug movement is strong at the individual "over-achiever" or "must climb the career ladder" level. I wouldn't define it as over-achieving, but I am sure some would. The point is, the market for nootropics is booming, and people are either getting prescribed or acquiring provigil/modafinil for this very purpose. Others are finding the nootropic supplements that are almost as expensive but purportedly very effective for long-term improvements, without the unknowns of what modafinil use does long-term.

When stories of success with modafinil hit places like TechCrunch, I'd wager a fair number of people are already enjoying it. Authors, stock brokers, doctors, journalists, they all seem to like it once they try it.

Your half-strength use reminds me why I have finally taken it upon myself to cut back my caffeine intake. I mostly skip all other sources and go straight to the pills. When I take caffeinated pre-workout supplements, I do factor that in accordingly. I go by numbers like it is a prescription: most days, I've always aimed for roughly 800mg from all sources.

Sounds ridiculous, until you slowly reach that point in your tolerance and have maintained that for what is now going on years. I shudder to think what it has done to my body, and I'm fairly certain I have been dealing with mental health repercussions.

I can take the full strength of most PWOs, and it does help fuel good workouts and help me get a few more reps or even sets, but dammit... I'm sure the gains could be much more if I wasn't already so tolerant of stimulants.

And so I have finally begun to cut back daily caffeine intake. Here's to hoping that success helps in many ways.

Another reason is NOS screws with my sleep schedule... I work out after work, which means I'm taking NOS late in the day - usually ~4:30-5. Most nights I can still sleep, but sometimes it keeps me up all night.

Alcohol enhances my mood, which enhances my life, which enhances my work. Does that count? I average less than one drink per day though, I don't want to build a tolerance or a dependency.

sorry don't grok your meaning.

The post I put there was motivated by COMPASSION for a young person seeking direction and guideposts in life, who seems to stand at a crossroads:

Pop culture/Drugs? or............Seek true spiritual breakthrough?

This whole culture seeks to lead people the EASY way, while I believe the OTHER, INCREDIBLY, almost SUPER-HUMANLY difficult way leads toward TRUTH.

The "insights" drugs reveal to you ain't real man. DELUSION.
The TRUE PATH is far away from all that POP culture shit, in a totally different REAL direction.

You deride me with your post, go on ahead have your fun. Doesn't affect me IN THE LEAST but maybe will help make you more popular...yeah that's IMPORTANT MAN!!!! Goodbye fool.

I abhor pop culture. Why you gotta spoil drugs with pop culture?

I take Modalert (provigil/modafinil). I like it. It doesn't make me hyper but does make me interested and care a lot about stuff, like details.

I think the best way to describe it is: it is like giving your brain a GPS and setting a task. With modalert, my brain automatically fills in all the directions. It is pretty cool. I usually take it at the beginning of project planning or before a big meeting. I also took it before my last review and successfully moved a couple meets to exceeds with valid points.

I have been thinking of actually taking my diagnosis and getting adderall xr. Are they really all they are cracked up to be for people with ADHD inattentive type? What can the average user expect?

Make sure you check your insurance first. Because of (not naming recent changes to the healthcare system because P&N <---), drug companies have colluded to make generics and alternatives less available and the more name brand pharmaceuticals more expensive. I'm not trying to start a politically charged debate at all but this has happened to us with several medications and multiple pharmacists and doctors have indicated this is the reason.

My son was on Adderall XR but we had to switch to a less effective prescription because the monthly cost went from $70 to nearly $700 last year.
