Anybody here know how to dance?

So I've always wanted to pick up dancing... what's a nice style to pick up and learn? Nothing too complex...

I don't think I want to do ballroom dancing...

Look up your local swing dance clubs. Fun to learn, usually more girls than guys at these clubs.

I'd say it would be best to learn salsa and cha-cha. You can do those to just about any modern song (pop, rap, whatever). You could do it at a proper ballroom dance or wedding. Or skip the arm motions and make the steps smaller and you are dancing it at a club.

The point of waltz is to find an attractive person (dressed up to be as good looking as possible), stick her/his pelvis and/or chest right into your pelvis and/or chest (depending on height difference), then stick your leg right through her/his thighs. That is all that waltz is. Just repeat that leg in and out of your partner's thighs. Boring? Only if you are asexual. Close intimate contact is critical to dance it properly.

Dancing sucks, particularly what qualifies as "dancing" nowadays.

If you have to pick one, I'd pick something formal, where good dancers are actually recognized (ie: like the tango).

Ballroom dancing can generally refer to many different styles of dancing (waltz, salsa, two step, swing, merenge, and more).

Is that what you were looking for? Or were you thinking of something like Hip hop, break dancing, or something else?

I suggest taking a general ballroom class where they teach you a little bit of everything, then see which style you prefer to do.

I can sort of kind of dance. I've been learning off and on.

Always wanted to but it requires a fair amount of practice and upkeep.

I can two-step passably well

I can pretend to be able to cha-cha/polka/ranchero/cumbia/waltz

I can't swing at all. Ironically this is what about 99.999999% of women want to do, also they will call swing dancing anything BUT swing dancing.

I think Polka is the most fun and energetic. I would suggest private lessons, group lessons didn't do shit for me but 3 private lessons did quite a bit.
