I was looking into tables and everyone told me to just save up for 1200's. You can usually find two 1200's used for ~$700. I'd just save up and buy them used.

Good luck on staying under $500.
I'd suggest watching craig's list, and he might find something under $750. Hell, he might find a Technics setup under $500, but I would advise against buying without a more experienced person examining them.

To OP: If you can save up some more $$ a quality set of Technic SL1200 decks will certainly be worth it in the long run.

for the sake of the world, i am morally obligated to request that you spend the money on a quality handgun with which to shoot yourself.

but if you have to masterbate furiously with rubber, i suggest spinning on Technics.

Me, I've got Numark TTX turntables. But, just like Technics 1200's, good luck getting 2 of those for under $500. Check out some of the "DJ in a Box" kits. Stanton's got a few good ones: here

I'd go w/ the DJLab.3 package if I was gonna chose one of those.

Realize that whatever you spend on your equipment - you're going to spend a lot more buying all your vinyl. Unless you go with Finalscratch or Serato.
