Anybody here have any experience with (shh) laser hair removal?

I'm kind of sickened by the hair on a few select parts of my body. Has anybody ever tried these new laser hair removal things? I've heard different things. I've heard that you need multiple treatments and I'm willing to do that but I would want to make sure the hair would be permanently removed...

From what I have heard, 6 trips to the doc, and a few hundred/thousand dollars, (depending on the size of the area) and babies butts all over town will be jealous.
