He wants one with a minimum 6GB of storage, and I like the Sandisk e2xx players because, among other things, they're expandable. I can also get the e280 model for about $130 after taxes. If anybody has any other ideas, I'm open to suggestions, though.

I have one. It's the 8 gig, my wife has the 6 gig version.

Pro's:
Incredible battery life
Great sound
Options that you can't get with an Ipod
Price

Con's:
The interface is MUCH worse than an Ipod
It's virtually impossible to hit the buttons on the outside of the wheel if you have fat fingers
Limited accessories
Database refresh can literally take minutes after you disconnect from your PC

The single biggest thing is how hard it is to skip tracks. The buttons are very poorly placed. They made a slight revision between the 6 gig and the 8 gig. It's a little bit more refined on my 8 than my wife's 6. But still not great. You'll definitely want to grab an action jacket for it. That helped a bit with the buttons. DLO makes one of the only custom ones for it, and you'll pay the price for it($25+). But it is well made.

The other thing to look for is the Sansa View which is the update to the Sansa. I haven't seen them or read much. But they have an updated UI and have a lot more built in memory.
