Anybody have the MX Duo?

If you own the MX Duo you know that the keboard has a connector thingy that converts USB into a PS/2 for the keyboard. Well I broke that connector, what should I do? It sucks having to use this cheapo Keyboard! Thanks for any information! Oh and I already tried sticking the USB into the usb port.

If you look at the installation instructions you'll see that it says to use the ps/2 purple keyboard and green mouse connections for a pc, and the usb only for a notebook or a mac. However I have the mx duo on my other desktop (pc) rig with only the usb port connected and it works fine. Are you sure that your usb ports are functioning properly? Try a different one....

I would like to add on to this = I have a usb keyboard and experince with a lot of usb keyboards/mice. everything i used the conversion connector (usb to ps2), both worked well and whenever i pulled out the connector and went thraight usb = all worked fine.

I tried all eight of my USB ports and it doesn't seem to work. Do I have to leave USB legacy on? I have it on, but only my keyboard works but my mouse doesn't. I unplugged the PS/2 for the mouse it doesnt' work, I also plugged it back in, it doesn't work. The keyboard works fine under USB, but I can't get my mouse to work under USB. Thanks for all the help so far.

make sure the logitech base has a connection to the mouse. press connect on the base and then press connect on the mouse.

thats odd, most usb kb these days work just fine as just usb. my old ms kb had a ps2 cord too cuz it needed that to work in dos, but in windows, usb alone is enough

I was thinking about it, but I can't seem to find the actual part at Logitechs' website, and everytime I call the wait line is so long I usually have to leave before they answer my call.

I think so. In my mobo's manual, it says that if you want to use a USB keyboard/mouse, leaving the setting for 'USB Legacy devices' on is necessary. Of course your mobo might be different to mine...

Well it's been on ever since I bought it, my mobo is an A7N8X Deluxe. (Old). I'm thinking it's my mobo, because the LAN doesn't work on it. So that probably means the USB's aren't working either so we shall see when I get my new system up. But in the mean time any suggestions are welcome.

you don't have to buy the ps/2 connector from logitech. i doubt they sell that part anyway. just go to compusa or something. they sell those parts.

If I were a betting man I would say you ripped the PS2 port out of your motherboard while breaking the PS2 connector, and basically you screwed up your IO ports.
New Motherboard IMO.

Ok, update, I got a new mobo, and it detects the Keyboard (at boot up, it says detected USB keyboard) but it still doesn't work only the mouse does. Any more ideas please? I'm having a LAN this weekend and I'd like to be able to use the wireless board and mouse. If I ordered the connector it would take til next week to get here even if I overnight it. Thanks.
