The reviews i'm reading suggest it's a pretty crappy experience. Are you still stuck with Firefox? Can you get Chrome instead? Is it still slow?

i saw it in the att store and thought "why would someone invent this and why would anyone buy this?". the only thing i could come up with was, if you had unlimited data (and they allowed it for data consumed this way), it would be awesome for someone who did a lot of surfing.

I'm shocked anyone is considering this because of it's cost. I was initially interested in the laptop dock for the atrix until i saw the price. Honestly I'd rather buy a transformer + dock than spend money on the atrix laptop dock.

I don't have the dock but a friend does so I can answer these questions:

Yep just Firefox. No Chrome, unless you bootstrap a whole OS like Ubuntu. Its pretty slow. Slower than a netbook. Firefox needs more RAM if anything (the webtop OS only uses 512mb).

The OP is asking about the webtop, not the laptop dock. Two very different things with very different price points :)

I wouldn't say it is a crappy experience, but I guess it depends on what you are using it for. It certainly isn't close to a desktop PC, but it blows the PS3 out of the water for web browsing. If you are into modding your phone you can replace Firefox, and actually the entire Webtop with a closer to stock Ubuntu build, but I never thought it was worth it. As a web terminal for use with a TV, it works pretty damn well IMO. I will say it is the one thing I use on my Atrix where I really feel the need for quad core and 2GB of RAM, it taxes the phone.
