i have to say ive got the worst allergies out of anyone ive ever met in my life. im allergic to everything. nothing really deadly, but my skin starts to break out..my eyes start crying, i start sneezing/coughing and my nose starts to run. ive almost got a constant nose run, and my eyes are almost constantly crying. cats and cigarette smoke is the worse. my skin starts to get really dry...and my nose is like a water hose. after a few minutes i look at my arms, and i break out into these sores. its a pretty disgusting sight. ive tried allergy shots and claritin..but that doesnt work too well for me. one day i had to go to ER because a cat got under my car and i turned on the air. my face swelled up so i couldnt see anymore. horrible sight. what are you allergic to?

Have you considered immunotherapy? When I was little I went in for testing. I reacted to every category they had (I only had the 13 category one rather than the full 50 something one they give adults). I was on shots for five years, with a short break in the middle. It made a significant difference, I rarely have symptoms bad enough to justify medication whereas before everytime the orchards bloomed I went to pieces.

Unfortunately I will never own a cat, at least until they come out with an allergen free version (supposedly they're relatively close, but they'll be $750-$1000).

i reacted to a level 6 to cats, and 5 to cigarette smoke and dogs. i went thru the 50 point inspection. i literally watched my skin boil when they but the cat enzyme on my arm/back. nasty sight. what exactly is immunotherapy? all ive done is gotten on allergy shots every other year or so, and take claritin every other year or so.

Immunotherapy is when you go to the doctor every week or so and they inject you with increasing dosages of whatever you're allergic to. Your body then gains a natural immunity to whatever allergen. My doctor recommended it to me, but I don't want to get injected weekly. No time to go. My allergies are tamed well enough by Claritin, though the dry mouth side effect sucks. I too am highly allergic to cats, dogs, dust, molds, pollen, and cigarette smoke. What's weird is that I grew up in a home with a father who smokes, and it never really bothered me, that is until I got my first pair of contact lenses last year. Now, smoke gives me the biggest reaction. My eyes swell up and get very itchy and tears up.

Cigarette smoke does me in. Watery eyes, sneezing coughing, sinus trouble, sore throat or an itchy crawly feeling in the skin under my throat.

I think my two brothers win though, they both had horrible food allergies, sugar, corn, corn syrup, corn starch, milk, eggs, wheat, not to mention the pollen and grass allergies. They were eating basically nothing but rice cakes, lettuce, and plain meat for over a year as they went in to get allergy shots, etc. They eventually got to the point where they could slowly reintroduce foods into their diet, and now they can eat pretty much whetever they want.

I got allergies bad. I don't have rashes or things like that, just stuffed up or runny nose, puffy eyes. I'm allergic to so much things though. Many many types of plants, grasses, trees, molds, animals.

I've had a nose spray for many years but just within the last 6-8 months I've started getting the shots. I guess they work really well. My dad had very bad allergies but after the shots he RARELY has any porblems.

edit: About cigarette smoke... for whatever reason the cigarette smoke (marlboro, camel, newport) from my friends doesn't bother me. But those damn nowmenthols or whatever the f*ck my mom smokes bothers the hell outta me.

I used to not have allergies and was never sick, then I put on a little undesirable weight and my immune system went to sh*t. I'm losing the weight though and hopefully it will get better. My allergies are BAD. I got that pin prick test done on my arm and had lumps for just about everything.

Hey do to the doctor and get a prescription for Singular or Clariton. both are miracle drugs.
